On this job, we connected an underground power supply for a client on the Sunshine Coast who had subdivided his large rural property in Cooroy and required an electricity supply to the new house.
To prepare for the underground power we excavated the site for the underground electricity cables and then backfilled upon completion.
The benefits of underground power on rural properties
Often the cost of overhead power vs underground power is very similar, so we recommend going underground for a couple of reasons.
Not only is underground much more aesthetically pleasing but, importantly, avoids power outages in storms from falling trees and broken poles, which can be quite a costly fix.
Whether it’s 10m or 2000m we specialise in underground power and are here to help.

Abbot Electricians – Underground Power Specialists
Growing up in Cooran on a rural property, Nick decided to take up an opportunity with local Pomona electrician Jim Bisset to undertake an apprenticeship. Following in his father’s early footsteps to be an electrical contractor in the Noosa Hinterland, “I find myself servicing clients my Dad did 30 years ago in the Pomona area today“.
Why choose Abbot Electricians over your usual electrician?
Your normal electrical contractor may be able to do this type of work, the electrical field is very broad and a lot of contractors will do a bit of everything. We have decided to tailor our business to mainly underground power, meaning a smoother process and our price is very competitive.
We service the Sunshine Coast and Mary Valley QLD including the towns of Gympie, Eumundi, Pomona, Cooroy, Nambour, Yandina, Cooran, Kin Kin, Doonan, Noosa, Maroochydore, Caloundra and everywhere in between.
