We are licensed electrical contractors authorised to undertake repairs to private owned infrastructure (power pole / electricity pole) required by Energex.
Have you received a letter from Energex stating that there has been an electrical safety defect identified on your privately owned infrastructure (i.e. power pole / electricity pole)?
A Notification of Concern letter may have been left at your property by an Energex contractor advising of a potential electrical defect of your power pole and advising that further action is required.
We are members of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) and authorised and licensed to complete all the necessary work.
We are licensed power pole repair specialists
We are licensed electrical contractors authorised to repair and, if necessary, replace defective power poles.
We will liaise with Energex and submit the required Electrical Work Request (EWR) to initiate the Point of Attachment Relocation with them. We can ensure that your power pole is repaired before the due date specified by Energex, giving you peace of mind that you have followed the required protocol.
If you’ve been advised there are termites on your property pole or that it has structural damage by termites and your property pole may be at risk of failing, we can assist here too by pointing you in the right direction of a licensed pest controller.
We provide comprehensive replacement services for timber power poles that are at the end of their lifespan or have been compromised due to termites, rot, or other factors.
IMPORTANT – Do not attempt to do the work yourself! Live powerlines are extremely dangerous and contact with them can be fatal. Our licensed electrical contractors are authorised to temporarily turn off the power so the necessary work can be completed safely.
Reasons for power pole repair and replacement
Under the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (QLD) and the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (QLD) it is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain privately owned electricity assets and to repair any defects.
Reasons why your privately owned power pole may need to be repaired or replaced include:
- People may be at risk of receiving an electrical shock or other significant injury;
- To manage any bushfire risk; and
- To maintain the reliability of the internal electrical installation of your property.
Is the property tenanted or available for holiday rental?
If the property is currently rented, let us know and we can liaise directly with your tenant and/or managing agent. If the property is available for holiday rental, we can work around the property availability, trying to do the work when it is vacant so as not to disturb the tenants.
What happens after the power pole repairs are completed?
After we have completed the work, we’ll provide you with all the relevant paperwork required by Energex. This is then sent to them via email or post, as outlined in the original correspondence you received from Energex.
